Atelier NovAlp — Project
RB2AB
50 m² on the 5th floor facing Lac du Bourget. Every square metre counts, every opening frames the landscape.
In a co-owned apartment building in Aix-les-Bains, this apartment draws its strength from its location — a direct view of Lac du Bourget that enters every room through the existing openings, retained and maximised. The internal insulation is completely redone for high thermal and acoustic comfort. New windows improve airtightness without altering the framed views of the landscape. The water-resistant wood-effect vinyl floor was chosen for its durability and minimal maintenance — a pragmatic choice in a compact home. The kitchen is completely redone in a contemporary style, and the electrical and plumbing equipment renewed. The objective: to improve everyday comfort and modernise the whole without distorting the apartment's most precious asset — its view. All-trades works. Three months on site.
Renovating a 50 m² apartment on the fifth floor of a building in Aix-les-Bains requires rigorous site organisation: delivering materials by lift or via the stairwell, respecting the co-ownership's working hours and managing disturbance for neighbours. Atelier NovAlp, project manager in Aix-les-Bains, coordinated all the work in three months to deliver a fully renovated home. High-performance internal insulation and new windows contribute to better energy efficiency, a major issue for older apartments in Aix-les-Bains' housing stock. The choice of a durable, easy-to-maintain wood-effect vinyl floor is perfectly suited to a compact home facing Lac du Bourget. This apartment renovation in Savoie illustrates our expertise in making the most of small spaces, where every design and material decision counts in maximising everyday comfort.
