We work as architect and project manager throughout Savoie (Chambéry, Aix-les-Bains, Albertville) and Haute-Savoie (Annecy, La Clusaz, Megève, Chamonix, Thonon-les-Bains, Évian). We also take on projects in the Ain and Isère departments. For sites further afield, contact us to discuss.
The architect designs the project and signs the planning application (mandatory in France above 150 m²). The project manager (maître d'œuvre) runs the delivery: contractor tendering, coordination of trades, site supervision, budget and schedule. Atelier NovAlp does both — you have a single point of contact from the first sketch to the handover.
Depending on the scale of the project, design takes 4 to 8 weeks (sketch, preliminary design, planning application). Allow 2 to 3 months for the planning authority to process the application, then 6 to 18 months of works depending on the type of project: house or apartment renovation, new build, chalet or extension.
Yes. We handle all the administrative procedures in Savoie and Haute-Savoie: review of the local urban plan (PLU), prior declaration or building permit, application to the Architectes des Bâtiments de France (heritage authority) if the site is protected, follow-up with the planning department and the statutory site notice.
Yes, either as full project manager or as turnkey general contractor. We carry out the works ourselves with our own teams: structural work, roof structure, finishing trades, bespoke kitchens. A NovAlp site manager is present throughout.
Yes, we hold the RGE CertiRénov certification awarded by Qualitel. It gives access to French state grants (MaPrimeRénov', energy saving certificates and the zero-interest eco-loan) for energy-efficiency projects: insulation, heat pumps, windows, ventilation. Particularly relevant for older homes in Savoie rated E, F or G.
Yes, chalet construction is one of our specialities. We build traditional log chalets, contemporary timber-frame houses and renovate old Savoyard farmhouses. We know the constraints specific to the mountains: the French Mountain Law, sloping plots, winter access and the planning rules of high-altitude resorts.
Yes, it is one of our core activities, both for houses (old houses, townhouses, 1970s–80s detached houses to bring up to date) and for apartments in Aix-les-Bains, Chambéry and Annecy: full renovation, load-bearing wall openings, bespoke kitchens and bathrooms, complete rewiring and replumbing, compliance upgrades. We manage all trades through to completion.
A turnkey new house starts at around €2,200/m² in Savoie and can reach €2,600/m² in Haute-Savoie in high-demand areas such as the Annecy basin. A traditional mountain chalet costs between €2,800 and €3,500/m² depending on altitude and complexity. The preliminary feasibility study is free.
