Tignes, the high-altitude glacier resort
Tignes is a resort apart: stepped from 1550 metres (Les Brévières) to 2100 metres (Tignes le Lac, Val Claret), at the foot of the Grande Motte glacier, which allows summer skiing. Its layout is that of a purpose-built resort from the 1960s-70s: little in the way of an old village — the original one was submerged in 1952 by the Chevril dam — but resort buildings and residences, for an international, sporty clientele.
This context steers projects towards the renovation and modernisation of resort apartments and chalets, as much as new builds. Modernising a property to bring it up to today's expectations is a frequent need here.

Building at very high altitude: nothing can be improvised
At Tignes' altitude, the constraints are extreme: snow loads among the highest in the Alps, aggressive freeze-thaw cycles, avalanche risk regulated by a prevention plan, and a very short construction window. Supply logistics and scheduling are decisive: this is exactly what a project manager coordinates.
The area is affected by the Vanoise National Park, with part of it in the core zone: depending on the sector, stricter protection rules apply. We check the exact zoning before any commitment.
