La Clusaz, an authentic village resort in the Aravis
La Clusaz is not a purpose-built resort that sprang up from nowhere: it is a genuine Savoyard village, lively all year round around its church and chalets, and the cradle of French skiing since 1907. At the heart of the Aravis massif, with a ski area rising to 2,600 metres, the village has kept a strong identity: timber and stone chalets, the mountain pastures of Reblochon cheese, a family clientele and second homes.
This authenticity calls for a project manager who respects it. Whether the project is building a new chalet, a major renovation of an existing property or an extension, it must fit the character of the village and a local plan (PLU) that tightly controls the appearance of buildings: timber, stone, roofs, massing.

Building a chalet at altitude: the method
Building in the Aravis means dealing with real technical constraints: heavy snow loads, reinforced insulation, choice of materials suited to the mountain climate, and a shorter works window — most work is carried out outside the ski season. Without serious coordination of the trades, timescales slip: that is precisely the role of a project manager.
The architectural style is governed by the La Clusaz local plan (PLU): traditional Savoyard chalet, quality materials, preservation of mountain pastures. Our in-house design office works within these rules from the first sketch, which secures the building permit and makes the price commitment reliable.
