Energy renovation
in Chautagne.
Old housing stock, over 79% of it detached houses, on a damp plain where winter is keenly felt: Chautagne is full of situations where insulation makes a real difference to comfort and bills. Our RGE CertiRénov certification gives access to grants.
Housing stock with real potential for savings
In Chautagne, housing is overwhelmingly individual: depending on the municipality, between 79% and over 96% of homes are houses. Much of this stock is old, poorly insulated or not insulated at all, and costly to heat, which weighs heavily on household budgets.
Two municipalities stand out for their vacancy rates: Serrières-en-Chautagne, at 10.6%, and Motz, at nearly 10%. A vacant home is very often one whose thermal condition discourages anyone from living in it or letting it. This is concrete renovation potential, not a statistical abstraction.
At the other end of the spectrum, Conjux and Chanaz have more than 42% and nearly 33% second homes respectively — properties often designed for summer, which need to be made comfortable in all four seasons when their use changes.
Where to start: the order of the works matters
The question everyone asks — “where do I start?” — has a technical answer. The envelope comes first, then the equipment. Insulate, then size the heating, never the other way round: a system sized for an energy-inefficient house will be oversized, more expensive to buy and less efficient once the house is insulated.
In order: the roof and loft (the main source of heat loss, and the best cost-to-benefit ratio), then the windows, then the walls depending on their construction — on old stone buildings, this point needs particular care so as not to trap moisture. Ventilation must accompany any improvement in airtightness: a better-insulated house that is poorly ventilated becomes a damp house.
That is exactly the role of project management: establishing this order, costing the whole project, and avoiding measures that work against each other.
Grants: what our certification gives you access to
Our RGE CertiRénov certification, no. CR-2026-73-0095, is the condition for accessing the main national schemes: MaPrimeRénov', energy savings certificates (CEE) and the interest-free eco-loan. Without an RGE-certified company, these grants cannot be obtained for the works concerned.
Then there is the local level: the Grand Lac conurbation, to which all eight municipalities of Chautagne belong, runs its own renovation grant scheme, and a France Rénov' advice desk holds sessions in Aix-les-Bains to provide free information to homeowners.
A warning we want to give clearly: these schemes change frequently — amounts, ceilings, eligibility conditions and target groups vary from one year to the next. We check the conditions in force at the time of your project, and we encourage you to cross-check them yourself on the official websites, in particular france-renov.gouv.fr and grand-lac.fr, before finalising your financing plan.
Our approach: a single point of contact, a coherent project
The main risk of an energy renovation carried out as a series of one-off measures is inconsistency: new windows in untreated walls, insulation without ventilation, a heat pump sized before the works. Each trade does its own job well, and the overall result disappoints.
We work either as project manager — design, pricing, contractor tendering, coordination, handover — or as turnkey general contractor, with a single contract and a committed price and timeframe. The works are carried out by our own teams.
Our office is in Aix-les-Bains, about twenty minutes from Chautagne, and we work in all eight municipalities: Chindrieux, Serrières-en-Chautagne, Ruffieux, Chanaz, Motz, Saint-Pierre-de-Curtille, Vions and Conjux.

Our energy renovation services
The envelope first, then the equipment — and ventilation in every case.
Loft and roof insulation
The main source of heat loss and the best cost-to-benefit ratio, particularly relevant when the roof covering is being redone.
Wall insulation
Internal or external depending on the building: on old stone walls, using breathable materials.
Windows & glazing
Replacement of windows and doors, treatment of thermal bridges and airtightness.
Ventilation
Essential as soon as airtightness is improved: a better-insulated, poorly ventilated house becomes a damp house.
High-performance heating
Sized after the envelope works, to avoid oversizing and its extra cost.
Grant applications
Preparation of MaPrimeRénov', CEE and eco-PTZ applications, subject to the conditions in force at the time of the project.
