Interior architect
in Aix-les-Bains.
Atelier NovAlp is an interior architecture practice in Aix-les-Bains. From our office at 198 Avenue du Grand Port, we redesign lakeside apartments on Lac du Bourget, contemporary villas and character houses: space planning, selection of materials, bespoke furniture and architectural lighting. An integrated process, from the first sketch to the final styling.
Why choose an interior architect in Aix-les-Bains?
Aix-les-Bains is a singular town: a Belle Époque spa resort, a protected lakefront, residential districts sloping gently towards Mont Revard, and a very active property market thanks to the proximity of Chambéry and Annecy. Using an interior architect in Aix-les-Bains quickly becomes essential when you want to transform a 1900s apartment in the town centre, a contemporary property in Tresserve or a villa facing the lake. Inherited volumes are rarely suited to today's lifestyles, the views over Lac du Bourget deserve to be showcased, and natural light, of very high quality in Savoie, should guide the design of the space.
Our practice is at 198 Avenue du Grand Port, a stone's throw from the Petit Port. Being based in the heart of Aix-les-Bains means we know the local fabric intimately: the craftspeople, joiners, tilers, electricians, kitchen fitters and stonemasons we work with every day. An interior architect in Aix-les-Bains without solid delivery capability never gets beyond a nice drawing. We deliver. From outline design to the last finishing touch, our teams are on site every week, sometimes every day when bespoke elements are being installed.
Atelier NovAlp's signature rests on a simple principle: architect, project manager, general contractor and decorator under one roof. Instead of orchestrating three service providers who pass the buck, you sign with a single point of contact who carries the vision and responsibility for the project through to handover of the keys. This is particularly valuable for apartment renovations in Aix-les-Bains, where every trade has to fit with the interior design to the millimetre. See our page apartment renovation in Aix-les-Bains to understand how we run works, and our page architect and project manager in Aix-les-Bains for an overview of our local services.
In terms of project types, our interior architecture commissions in Savoie fall into three main families: lakeside apartments on Lac du Bourget (east and south shores), contemporary villas in Tresserve, Brison-Saint-Innocent or Bourdeau, and character houses in central Aix or on the heights of Mouxy. Each calls for a different vocabulary: solid oak and brushed brass for Art Nouveau apartments, micro-cement and black steel for contemporary villas, local stone and natural textiles for older houses.

An integrated approach covering space design, selection of materials, bespoke furniture and management of the works. One commission, one point of contact, one turnkey result.
Design and space planning

Selection of materials
Solid wood flooring, micro-cement, terrazzo, Savoie stone, cement tiles, marble, brushed brass, walnut. We take you to our suppliers in Savoie and Haute-Savoie to approve colours and textures by hand.
Bespoke furniture
Kitchen, island, bookcase, walk-in wardrobe, bench seat, headboard, TV unit. Construction drawings handed to our joiners and fitters, with manufacturing and installation supervised by us.
Architectural lighting
Detailed lighting plan: indirect light, ceiling light lines, integrated LED strips, functional wall lights, decorative fittings. Lighting scenes (cooking, dining, evening) with dimmers and light home automation.
Bespoke kitchens and bathrooms
Two key rooms that make or break a renovation. We design kitchens sized to the space, with worktops in natural stone or Dekton, and sculptural bathrooms (walk-in showers, niches, built-in benches).

As a general contractor, we manage the trades, keep to the schedule, control the budget and deliver a fully finished interior, with furniture installed, lighting set and artwork hung.

Types of interiors we handle in and around Aix-les-Bains
Lakeside apartments on Lac du Bourget. From the residences of the Grand Port, the Petit Port and the southern shore (Tresserve, Viviers-du-Lac) to the contemporary developments of Bourdeau and Le Bourget-du-Lac, lakefront apartments account for a large part of our interior architecture work in Aix-les-Bains. The central challenge: making the most of the view. We design dual-aspect or L-shaped spaces that maximise exposure, place living areas on the lake side, open the kitchen onto the main room and favour low furniture to preserve the horizon line.
Contemporary villas. In Tresserve, Brison-Saint-Innocent, Bourdeau or on the slopes of Mouxy, we work on new or recent villas where the challenge is to dress the existing architecture: a large central island in stone and walnut, an integrated dry-stone fireplace, a floating staircase with black steel balustrade, a floor-to-ceiling bookcase in solid oak. Our project contemporary villa in Tresserve illustrates this approach, as does Le Cèdre in Bourdeau.
Character houses and prestige renovations. In central Aix-les-Bains and on the heights (Mouxy, Drumettaz, Saint-Simond), we renovate bourgeois houses and old chalets. These projects call for a more time-worn vocabulary: preserved mouldings, herringbone parquet, oiled oak kitchens, bathrooms in veined marble and brushed brass. See Le Belvédère des Alpes, our prestige renovation in Aix, and RB2AB, a completely redesigned apartment.
Town-centre apartment renovation. The 1900s to 1970s housing stock in central Aix-les-Bains often suffers from outdated partitioning, closed kitchens and undersized bathrooms. We carry out complete renovations that reorganise the rooms, open the kitchen onto the living room, create master suites and bring a contemporary feel while respecting the character of the building. Our projects R4AB and BP82C are examples.
Integrated extensions and conservatories. For houses in Grésy-sur-Aix, Drumettaz-Clarafond and Voglans, a contemporary extension remains the intervention that creates the most value. Our interior architecture role starts early, in coordination with the architectural side, to ensure the interior of the extension works with the existing house: continuous flooring, the same material vocabulary, smooth circulation. See our Patio L project.

Step 1 — Visit and listening. We come to your home in Aix-les-Bains, Tresserve, Le Bourget-du-Lac or Grésy-sur-Aix to understand how you live, measure the spaces, note the technical constraints and get a feel for your aesthetic. This first visit is free and with no obligation. It results in a statement of intent and a budget range.
Step 2 — Design. Sketch, outline design, then detailed design. We deliver dimensioned 2D plans, realistic 3D views and a complete materials board. Choices are settled in working meetings, then fixed in a construction file handed to the site teams. This is the most creative phase, where the interior architect's role in Aix-les-Bains is to translate your way of life into space.
Step 3 — Pricing and tendering. We price each work package and give you a detailed quote per package. You sign a clear contract, with a schedule per package and staged payment terms.
Step 4 — Managing the works. Our teams switch to general contractor mode: coordination of the trades, weekly site meetings, quality control, handling the unexpected. You receive a weekly report and can follow progress remotely via a shared online space.
Step 5 — Handover and styling. At the end of the works, we install the bespoke furniture, adjust the lighting, hang the pictures, put the textiles in place and hand over the keys to a finished interior, ready to live in. Follow-up at 3 and 12 months ensures the durability of the work and the bespoke furniture.
